California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) - Online Payment Instructions - Balance Due for Individuals
- Go to Pay | FTB.ca.gov
- Under "Make a Payment, choose "Bank Account". This is not for credit card payment.
- Under personal column, click on "Use Web Pay Personal".
- Enter your SSN and last name.
- Enter your personal information.
- For "Payment Type", click on "Bill Payment" to pay a balance due notice; or click on "Tax Return Payment" to pay balance due on a return.
- Tax year is the year to which you want the payment to apply. Please be careful with this one.
- Enter the payment amount.
- Enter payment date.
- Everything else should be self-explanatory.
