California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) - Online Payment Instructions - Balance Due for LLC's

  1. Go to Pay | FTB.ca.gov
  2. Under "Make a Payment", choose "Bank Account". This is not for credit card payment.
  3. Under the business column, click on "Use Web Pay Business".
  4. Enter "Limited Liability Company (LLC)" for entity type.
  5. Enter entity ID. This is not the same as EIN. This is a 12-digit ID number.
    1. If you don't know your LLC entity ID, go to Search | California Secretary of State
    2. On the search bar, enter your company's name.
    3. Find your company name from the result list. The entity ID is found below your company name.
  6. Enter your name.
  7. For payment type, select "Original Return/NCNR Member Payment (Form 568 or 3588)" if paying the balance on the LLC's return; or select "Bill Payment" if paying a balance due notice.
  8. Period beginning date is January 1, XXXX, unless you have a calendar year period. The year is the year to which you want the payment to apply. Be careful.
  9. Period ending date is December 31, XXXX, unless you have a calendar year period. The year is the year to which you want the payment to apply. Be careful.
  10. Enter the payment amount and the payment date.
  11. Everything else should be self-explanatory.
